Privacy Policy
Effective date: 21 February 2026
Overview
Lair is a personal knowledge management app. Your data is yours — we do not collect, track, or sell any of it.
Data Storage & Sync
All collections, documents, and attachments are stored locally on your device and optionally synced via Apple’s iCloud (CloudKit). When iCloud sync is enabled, Apple manages encryption and storage. The developer has no access to your iCloud data.
No Accounts
Lair does not require an account. There is no sign-up, no email collection, and no user profile.
No Tracking or Analytics
Lair contains no analytics SDKs, no ad frameworks, and no third-party trackers. We do not collect usage data, crash reports, or behavioural analytics.
Biometric Authentication
Lair optionally supports Face ID and Touch ID to lock the app. Biometric data is handled entirely by your device’s Secure Enclave and is never transmitted or accessible to the developer.
Marketplace
The Lair Marketplace serves collection templates. Browsing the gallery sends standard HTTP requests (IP address, user agent) for rate-limiting purposes only. No user activity is persistently stored or shared.
Third-Party Services
Lair can optionally search external databases (TMDB, Hardcover) to populate document fields. These searches send your query text to the respective service. Their own privacy policies apply:
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. Material changes will be noted in the app’s release notes.
